Currently, as an African Career Acceleration Fellow of The Crick Africa Network, I am based at the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP) at the University of Ghana, where I am transitioning my research on B-cells and plasma cells from animal models to human systems. My research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying the generation of long-lived plasma cells, antibody-secreting cells and their potential to be early predictors of vaccination success. I am a Malian immunologist and a former recipient of Mali’s National Excellence Scholarship Programme, an initiative established by the country’s former President to train a new generation of scientists and who could contribute to Mali’s development and to the wider pan-African scientific community. Through this programme, I was awarded an eight-year scholarship to pursue my higher education in biological sciences in France.
I moved to France in 2011 and studied at Grenoble… More on ORCID

Master Year 2 Internship. I completed a research internship in the laboratory of Rogerio Amino at the Institut Pasteur in Paris. The laboratory had identified several potentially important, but as yet unpublished, antigens of the rodent malaria parasite Plasmodium berghei. My project focused on one of these candidate antigens, designated Ag40. I first investigated the expression profile and subcellular localisation of Ag40 across different stages of parasite development using immunofluorescence, Department of Parasites and Insect VectorsInstitut Pasteur2016
Master Year 2 - Microbiology-Parasitoloy and MycologySorbonne Université Campus Pierre et Marie Curie2015–2016
Master Year 1 Internship - I completed a research internship in the laboratory of Joël LeMaoult, in collaboration with the Department of Urology at Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris. The project investigated the role of human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G) and its inhibitory receptor ILT2 in patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Through ILT2 engagement, HLA-G can suppress the activity of immune cells involved in antitumour responses, including CD8⁺ T cells, natural killer cells, and NKT cel, Laboratoire d’Immunologie Fondamentale et Appliquée, LIFAService de Recherche en Hémato-Immunologie, SRHI Institut Universitaire d’Hématologie, IUH2015
